Data Center & Rack Security Control

The Advanosys Security and Automation Technology (ASAT) approach to general data center security is similar in many ways to other facility applications.  Identify the specific needs as defined globally by the industry and by each unique client requirement.  Whether a full, independent, large-scale data center, several LAN rooms found in a single building or throughout a campus, to a closet where your critical IT equipment resides, all have a similar need for the highest level of security coverage.

Access to the room that houses the critical data storage equipment must be a high priority along with the consideration to have individual authorized access to each server cabinet/rack.  Frequently, dual authentication should be a major consideration for implementation of a two person rule to fully assure all access is authorized.  Once in the facility where the sensitive equipment is located, individual rack and/or server access controls should be given serious consideration.  ASAT offers solutions designed to function with specific rack hardware where multiple front and rear server access panels are individually secured.  This specialty hardware including the  Rack Armor line also incorporates individual cameras for each authorized area of server access, both front and rear to provide an absolute detection and verification process of all points by service personnel or other.

These heightened levels of security needs and access to sensitive equipment also require substantial environmental sensing such as real-time temperature, humidity, air quality and particulate monitoring along with the assured presence and fire alarm, suppression platforms, external systems such as HVAC, ventilation, water and other environmental system monitoring, leak or activation sensing and the inherent needs of power conditioning, power back-up and power supplies to ensure 100% viability.
